Bad Lip Reading

March 31, 2011 2 comments

I guess I have not been doing the best job of posting on the blog. <WEAK-EXCUSE> Both work and life have been crazy busy <\WEAK-EXCUSE>. But that hasn’t stopped me from skowering the internet for those really special must see things. Well here is a quick one for you.

May I present Bad Lip Reading.  Who ever they are, takes a music video, picks out new verses for the lip movements, records the new song and syncs it back up with the video.  I used to refer to myself as a professional mis-interpreter so I really enjoyed these videos.  I think you will too.  Hopefully they keep pumping them out.

Black Eyed Peas’ Boom Boom Pow becomes Everybody Poops.

And in a incredible upgrade, internet sensation song Friday by Rebecca Black becomes Gang Fight.

Our Internet Hero?

I think we talked about Urban Ninja in the past.  I guess I overlooked this video as an amazing one off until I came across this …

Obviously I find this video awesome on several levels.  But it is the trailer for Urban Ninja III at the end is really was peaked my interest.  Not only was this great news but it also pointed out that I had missed Urban Ninja II.  Immediately some internet searching began.  Quickly I was lead to the YouTube channel of the creator Robert Hoffman (aka PunchRobert).  Quickly looking through his collection of videos he appears to be extremely well rounded.  Breakdancer, Ninja, Comedian, Singer, Prankster and Rapper.  Sounds like the perfect entertainer to me.

So we would officially like to put the support of PiratesAndNinja.com behind PunchRobert.  Check out his website and youtube page, you won’t be disappointed.  Here are a couple of samples to make it easy for you.

Epic Meals And Potential Fails

December 1, 2010 Leave a comment

Things are looking pretty bleak on the whole ‘bet with Gary’ front.  I am not really ‘into numbers’ right now but I have a bunch to lose for Friday.  My lovely bride has stepped up to the plate and has put me on a super special program which she guarantees results.  She has my 100% buy in.

Totally unrelated to my weight problems … These EPIC MEAL TIME guys really are doing something special.  New videos every Tuesday.  Here is their US Thanksgiving video.

A bird in a bird in a bird in a bird in a pig.  That is enough to make me turn vegitarian.  J/K this is awesome.  “The We Garnished It With Baconators” … Brilliant!

Here is today’s video on breakfast.  Everything wrapped in bacon …

“We ‘Bout To Get Drunk Off Pancakes” … Genius.

We at PiratesAndNinja.com would like to full endorse the science being performed by the guys at Epic Meal Time.

Urinal Etiquette

November 4, 2010 Leave a comment

Just a couple of quick notes.  If you are interested in SEO at all I have a handy tip for you.  Just throw ‘rim job’ in all of your post titles.

As a follow up to yesterdays entry.  I was pointed to the following YouTube video covering all of the male bathroom interaction basics.  It is thorough and hilarious.  A future ‘bathroom behavior’ was actually going to cover urinal selection, so this saves me some time too. Never Talk!

Your Lord And Dragon

October 7, 2010 Leave a comment

When you are parents you get into the oddest conversations. Here is a legitimate conversation Heidi and I had last night after Travis began singing ‘Puff The Magic Dragon‘ around the house.

Heidi: Where is it that Puff is from, Hallilee?

Mike: I always thought it was Galilee.

<Insert Keyboard Clicking And Internet Searching Here>

Heidi: Puff is from is from Honah Lee.  Jesus was from Galilee.

Mike: Well when you compare the two stories they are almost identical, honest mistake.

Apparently all the Catholic schooling did not stick very well.

They Grow Up So Fast

May 27, 2010 Leave a comment

Couple of quick, but funny Travis stories for everyone today.

Our first one takes place at BBQ #3 from this past weekend. Travis had partied hard the night before, not going to bed until well past his bedtime, still woke up at 6:30 and didn’t really nap. So he was in a bit of a mood. On his best days he is a little slow to get going in a new social scene, it took him some extra time this time out. But after he pounded 5 or 6 juice boxes (one day this may turn into a problem of it’s own) he finally started to play with the other kids.

All seemed to be going fairly well and Travis and one of the girls seemed to be playing tag or some sort of chase based game.  Travis was yelling something that was a little hard to understand.  Luckily for the crowd he repeated it … “Come Here Baby, I Wanna Hug You”.  Quite the ladies man at the age of 4 don’t you think?  Recently he has been calling everyone Baby, makes sense, Scotty Nguyen is his favourite poker player.

Later that afternoon they were playing some other chasing kind of game, but this time when you caught the other person you would lift up their shirt and look at their belly button.  I can’t wait to be served for the sexual harassment lawsuit.

Our second tale is even shorter and occurred when I arrived home from work on Tuesday.  For reasons unknown to me he greeted me by singing ‘The Roof, The Roof, The Roof Is On Fire’.  So proud and concerned at the same time. Once again, no idea where he learned this.  Thankfully this appears to be the full verse he knows, there are no additional profane verses that he is currently repeat.  I am sure it is only a matter of time.

Keep Your Pants On

April 30, 2010 1 comment

I do a lot of stupid things.  To cover up my own embarrassment I try to turn these things into funny stories.  Why I choose to share these with my legion of internet readers, I am not sure.

A while ago when my doctor was first concerned about my high blood pressure, I was sent to get some general testing done.  Blood was taken and these tests would eventually identify me as being borderline diabetic, to go with the medication worthy high blood pressure.  But at this time I was also signed up to have a EKG done as well.  Not really sure why but I trust my doctor.  Once I got over my concern that I would be electrocuted, I took my number and sat down in the lab waiting room.

When they called my number, they put me in a room.  I waited for a nurse to show up with some instruction.  She did not speak the greatest English and you can ask my wife, but I understand my hearing isn’t the best to begin with.  From what I understood from her, I was to get undressed.  It made sense to me, I was in a private room and who knows where they need to put the little sensors.

I am pretty good at following directions, so when the nurse left the room seemly going to be back in a minute, I stripped down to only my gitch.  When the nurse returned and she was immediately horrified.  She averted her eyes and started pointing at me and mumbled about something.  Eventually I made out what she was trying to tell me, something along the lines of “Pants on, just roll them up”.

I was pretty embarrassed and quickly got my pants back on and the legs rolled up.  But lets all use this as a learning lessing.  No matter what you think someone is saying to you, there is no need to take your pants off for a EKG.
